We could see birds flying around a freighter entering the port. There was something not common, very dark apart from terns and gulls. We followed the movements of this bird under the suspicion that this could be the skua. It was best seen when it flew at low height in a straight line followed by two cormorants. At that moment we could see the white spot on the base of the primaries. It turned and landed on the water and we lost sight of it.
Lui says it is difficult to determine the species since diagnostic characters are not seen. Though he believes it is the Brown Skua Stercorarius antarticus.
Compilation of audios Claudia and Tito went to the trouble of compiling the audios they have recorded along the years. Most of these three volumes are from RECS. There are only some sound from other places in the city. But there are more from other parts of the country. |
