A Pied-billed Grebe in nuptial plumage (black ring, black throat and white eyering) and calling. A typical behaviour during the breeding season. And now we know that it is not alone. Sally told us that she saw three individuals at Coipos calling and pursuing among them. Will they be the first to open the breeding season at this new Coypu Pond? This species used to breed here.

This sequence was taken in a park adjacent to the reserve in February 2013. An adult is feeding a juvenile. These parakeets nest in tree holes. When juveniles leave the nest they look very much like an adult with the exception of their black legs. The adullts' are rosy.

As usual Andrés Capdevielle provides the information on ringed birds. This is a very special Chimango Caracara Milvago chimango since it was released on 27th of July, 2012 when the Rehabilitation Center opened.

This hawk has two rings and coincides with one realeased during a practical class of a crush course on raptors on July 28th 2013.

This photo was taken on 1st of August, a day after the fire. From the stone wall this egret observes the post-fire view. The egrets on its back and the lore already turning green indicate the arrival of the breeding season
