Very far on top of a tree Pablo saw the kingfisher. It stayed a while. We thought it was a female, but it turned out to be a juvenile male. The blue colouring above the white collar is already turning rufous.
We were leaving the reserve when the kingfisher flew above our heads.
In the distance a big group of Grayish baywing was eating on the ground. Nevertheless when we had a close look some turned to be screaming cowbirds like the ones in the photos. The black dots begin the change into the black plumage of the screaming cowbird. The screaming cowbird parasitizes the grayish baywing almost exclusively and the cowbird's chicks look like just those of the grayish baywing, excepto for the lack of the black lore and the presence of black colouring to the undercoverts. .These juveniles were eating by themselves, but still demanded food from the adults.
