Rufus Hornero
Furnarius rufus
A year with many ground-tyrants. Only one is seen but in fact we counted 7 of them.
We were very glad to find this pair of great grebes building the nest on Saturday 24th. The first record of great grebe at the reserve.

A huge number of gulls in the Duck pond. Though we consider them black-hooded gulls, there must be some grey-hooded gulls in the group. The difficulty to see each one of them does not let us confirm their presence. A small spot just in front of us rendered almost 200 individuals. At the back there was a big white mat and too many individuals in the water. Perhaps 1000 individuals?

Silvia told us the position of the duck. It turned out a chiloe wigeon. Then a second duck was spotted. Later in the afternoon Sebastián saw three more ducks landing on the pond
