Water level in the Coypu Pond
A dry summer and without pumping water the water level of the pond descended remarkably. At the end of June cleaning and maintenance work began and the pump came into operation. Since then water has been being injected and the aspect of the pond has changed once more. Since the Viamonte end is shallower than the Brasil's end the pond bed was exposed leaving a mudflat ideal for shorebirds, snipes, ibises, etc.. Now the water level is rising and the avifauna is changing.

At the Brasil end a new water measuring pole was set. It shows how the pond is being flooded. On July 10th it was at -45 and on August 14th, almost at -25.
