Raptor Rehabilitation Center shows the joint work between Reserva Costanera and Buenos Aires Zoo to rescue and rehabilitate animals. On that opportunity one of the birds in rehab was a Crowned Eagle Harpyaliaetus coronatus which had been brought from San Luis with a bullet wound. It was operated on at the Zoo and later rehabilitated at Costanera.
Today I bring the story of Puntana, so she was called, from her relocation in Buenos Aires, her stay at Costanera to her way back home. A success and great satisfaction for this group of professionals who give back to nature at least a bit of all we take from it.
I thank Andrés Capdevielle, Director of the Raptor Conservation and Rescue Program, who has handed all this material for publication. All the photos belong to the PCRAR (Raptor Conservation and Rescue Program).

Almost a year later Puntana goes back to her place

The big day came: 22nd of March. Before being released a radio transmitter was attached on her back to track her movements.

A happy day for the community. Schools and authorities are present

And free to fly
