We could see birds flying around behind a fregihter entering the port. There was somenthing not common, very dark apart from terns and gulls. We followed the movements of this bird under the suspicion that this could be the skua. It was best seen when it flew at low height in a straigt line followed by two cormorants. At that moment we could see th white spot on the base of the primaries. It turned and landed on the water and we lost sight of it.
Lui says it is difficult to determine the species since diagnostic characters are not seen. Though he believes it is the Brown Skua Stercorarius antarticus.
