South American fur seal - Arctophoca australis

Order Carnivora
Family Otariidae
These fur seals live in the coast of sea and adjacent waters. They prefer rocky places. The are very good swimmers but they are agile on land as well. In the reserve only lost pups have been detected. Knowing they can not feed by themselves and they would die if left on their own, they are rescued and cared for till they may be released in their habitat. Depending on their condition they may survive or not.
