Behaviour - Guira Cuckoo

I was walking along the stone wall of Coipos. Bird sightings were scarce but it was compensated for by a show performed by a Guira Cuckoo which met my expectations.
On the stone wall I can see a Guira Cuckoo making unusual movements. I observe a string tangled around its leg "as if tied" and the cuckoo trying to get rid of it by stepping it with the same foot and pulling upwards with the bill.
Pirincho/Guira cuckooIt repeats this movement on some occasions but fails. The string had a piece of meat in the other end, like the common string of a spicy sausage with a bit attached. Then it takes a rest and develops a new strategy.
Pirincho/Guira cuckooIt changes the procedure. It uses its left foot to step on the string and shakes its right foot to free it.
Pirincho/Guira cuckooAfter some tries he manages to get rid of the string and by instinct goes for the piece of meat but it does not take it.
Pirincho/Guira cuckooIt decides to abandon the piece and leaves

I was not surprised that it tried to disentangle itself. In fact it was quite a symbol to realize that his effort had been useless and that it was apt to change the procedure.
