Date is approximate. This is the only record of this bird. Though this crake is timid, it went out into the open enough time to capture these images. Diagnostic features, white undertail coverts and red sides of the neck, leave no doubt this is a red-and-white Crake.

January 10th, 2006-January 10th, 2011

On 10th of January, five years ago, this site went public on the internet. Horacio Reinaudo, who started teh project, ran it for the first two years under the name of costanera.se. During that time he gathered the information in the existing data bases.

At the end of 2007 Horacio passed down the site to me. It changes its name into reservacostanera.com.ar and new sections related to bird habits are added.

Today we want to celebrate its fitfth anniversary with something new. A new and more accessible format to the reader. And more information. But we are in the middle of the transformation. The site is not finished yet. Little by little all the information will be retrieved and included together with the new one.

I thank all those who cooperate with photos, videos or information. Without this material, the site would not be possible.

And to begin this new year here comes a gift, an interview with the "great Tito" telling us about the beginnings of the reserve. (The interview is in Spanish)
