This species is a parasitoid of isopods like sowbugs. The female does not lay the egg inside or outside the host but in the area the host frequents. When the larva hatches, it stands up and when the host passes by the larva attaches to it and gets into the host. It feeds on the insides to leave an empty skeleton when the adult fly emerges.

"Better on the wing"
An event organized by Aves Argentinas to raise awareness about wildlife and fauna trafficking. The COARECS took part in different activities of the event. Lucas said: "We led 2 short walks of 90 minutes each, where the message was to enjoy and to learn to watch birds in the wild. We also helped in the Shilba stand advising people on Shilba products, their uses and the best options for their needs. At the end there was a raffle of binoculars
Árboles Nativos (Native Plants) of Aves Argentinas was present too. They gave seedlings and also coordinated a game for children where they had to cast a big die to move forward in a hopscotch-like board. A very amusing activity. We had a great time."
