New species: White-barred Piculet
Picumnus cirratus
Carpinterito común/White-barred PiculetThis 8-cm woodpecker was seen for the first time by Marcelo, the author of the photo, on 25th of September, 2010. Along with Ignacio Chantada it was spotted again on two other occasions, on 14th and 16th of April. This leads us to think that this minute woodpecker presumably settled at the reserve, though the number of individuals is unknown. The lack of a broad red forehead indicates this is a female.
